According to reports, on September 14, local time, U.S. President Biden delivered a speech after visiting the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, announcing the approval of the first batch of bipartisan infrastructure law funds worth $900 million for the construction of electric vehicles in 35 states. Car charging station.

Affected by this, U.S. stock charging pile concept stocks rose, Volta rose more than 7%, Wallbox rose more than 4%, Blink Charging rose more than 2%, and ChargingPoing and EVgo followed suit. Biden will announce the approval of the first $900 million in bipartisan infrastructure law funding to build electric vehicle charging stations in 35 states.

On February 10 this year, the Biden administration announced a plan: With the approval of Congress, the U.S. government can allocate nearly $5 billion over five years to build thousands of charging stations. The $900 million announced this time will be the first tranche of funding for the program.

At the show, Biden said U.S. road travel will be fully electric, and whether you're driving along the coast on I-10 or on I-75 in Michigan, charging stations will be easy to find. The Biden administration has pledged to have 50 percent of all new cars sold by 2030 be electric or plug-in hybrids and add 500,000 new electric vehicle charging stations.

However, U.S. officials have repeatedly pointed to the lack of charging stations as a key obstacle to the rollout of electric vehicles. Detroit Mayor Michael Duggan told the media on Tuesday that we will need to see a rapid increase in the number of charging stations.

The issue of electric vehicle charging is considered to be the "last mile" of electric vehicle promotion. It is crucial to the promotion and development of electric vehicles. Domestic support policies for charging piles are also frequent.

On August 25, the Ministry of Transport of China jointly issued the "Action Plan for Accelerating the Construction of Charging Infrastructure along Highways", proposing that by the end of 2022, highway service areas in areas other than high cold and high altitudes across the country can provide basic charging services. ; Before the end of 2023, qualified ordinary national and provincial trunk highway service areas (stations) can provide basic charging services.

So far, 13,374 charging piles have been built in 3,102 of the 6,618 expressway service areas across the country. The Ministry of Communications said that compared with the rapid development of new energy vehicles in my country, the current problems such as insufficient charging infrastructure and insufficient coverage are still more prominent, and the construction of charging infrastructure for ordinary national and provincial trunk lines and rural roads has not yet started. It cannot effectively meet the needs of electric vehicles for long-distance travel.

In addition, on August 18 this year, the State Council executive meeting pointed out that it will vigorously build charging piles and support policy-based development financial tools.

Relevant institutions believe that the policy proposes to "vigorously promote the construction of charging piles and include them in the support scope of policy-based development financial instruments", which means that on the one hand, the construction of new energy charging piles will be further accelerated; The tool support will effectively alleviate the capital investment in the early stage of the charging pile arrangement of the enterprise, and stimulate the enthusiasm of the enterprise.

Since the second half of 2020, China's new energy vehicle market has maintained rapid growth. It is estimated that China's new energy vehicle sales are expected to exceed 6.5 million in 2022, and it is expected that by 2025, the sales volume is expected to be close to 10 million. With the rapid development of the electric vehicle market in recent years and the rapid increase in the number of ownership, the demand for electric vehicle charging continues to increase.

According to data from the China Charging Alliance, as of August 2022, members of the alliance have reported a total of 1.623 million public charging piles, including 702,000 DC charging piles, 921,000 AC charging piles, and 224 AC-DC integrated charging piles. From September 2021 to August 2022, about 53,000 new public charging piles will be added per month. .

According to estimates, if the construction end is based on a 3:1 vehicle-to-pillar ratio, it is expected that by 2025, the number of charging piles will reach 9.3 million units, with an annual growth rate of 37.3%, and the cumulative investment in charging pile construction will be 167.8 billion yuan. According to the service fee of 0.5 yuan/degree, the service fee income scale is expected to reach 72.9 billion yuan by 2025, with an annual growth rate of 48.2%.

From the perspective of the industrial chain, the new energy charging pile industry chain includes upstream charging pile component manufacturers, midstream charging pile operation service providers, and downstream support links. Among them, equipment parts manufacturers (equipment side) and charging pile operators (operating side) are the most important links in the charging pile industry chain.
